As a newbie website to be introduced, not much history is available for Jittercat to be elaborated on. However the domain name www.jittercat.com was registered 7 October 2010. The original idea for Jittercat.com was to be a free downloading website where visitor would have been able to download free open source and legal software.

The idea changed drastically to a still free, website to combine some of the most used websites and other online useful applications into one website.
